The Ludovica design by MaVoix draws inspiration from Anna Maria Luisa de’ Medici, the last heir of the Medici dynasty and a key figure in the preservation of Florence’s cultural heritage.
With the Patto di Famiglia of 1737, Ludovica prevented the dispersion of the Medici collections, entrusting them forever to the city of Florence.
The pattern is born from this visionary gesture and her unique blend of political insight and collector’s spirit.
Ludovica presents itself as an imaginary visual archive: urns, chalices, cups, heraldic animals, and Wunderkammer relics emerge across an open field, each bearing its own symbolic significance.
The graphic linework is bold, the shading rich in detail and gilded accents, and the subjects charged with visual tension.
It is an ornamental collage that merges allegory and decoration, erudition and wonder.
In this version, the Ludovica pattern rests on a warm écru background, reminiscent of pigmented plaster or antique paper, with a soft, creamy tone that radiates quiet luminosity.
The decorations in Lapis, Malachite, Amethyst, and Burnished Gold stand out elegantly, like miniatures displayed on parchment.
The result is a luminous, noble, and rarefied wallpaper, perfect for bright, classic, or contemporary interiors seeking a balance between ornament and visual clarity.
