Blue Java

Fuga

With Fuga, Studio Lievito signs for MaVoix a project that breaks matter apart to return it in a lighter form.
The design draws inspiration from the Italian tradition of terrazzo flooring, yet frees it from its physical weight, transforming it into a floating graphic surface printed on paper.
The tile becomes pattern, the grout line becomes a visual grid, and the material dissolves into its own graphic counterform.

In this wallpaper, illusion is the dominant design element. The pattern does not seek literal fidelity, but a new visual identity for the material — that of a dematerialized, fragmented, reinterpreted tile.
Studio Lievito builds a language that bridges heritage and digital experimentation, creating a graphic aesthetic with a strong, contemporary character.

In the Blue Java variant, the pattern is composed of matte black specks on a warm white background, divided by a bright azure geometric grid that evokes ceramic joints.
The combination feels fresh and orderly, yet never cold — the blue carries a tropical, exotic echo, hence the name Blue Java: like a terrace on a distant island, or a 1960s bathroom reimagined through contemporary graphic design.
