Egg Edition

Whispers of the Forgotten

Whispers of the Forgotten – Egg Edition, designed by Magnus Gjoen for MaVoix, captures the poetic tension between permanence and dissolution.
This project fuses the historical allure of classical ruins with the evocative power of abstract camouflage: Piranesi-like reminiscences emerge from a deconstructed pattern that both reveals and conceals, drawing the viewer into a visual narrative of layering, time, and silence.

In this composition, the grandeur of antiquity is revealed through fragments — broken columns, faint architectural forms, and shadows that seem to resurface from a suspended background.
The Ikat weave intertwines with the mimetic structure, creating a textural, vibrant visual fabric that, up close, dissolves into abstraction and, from afar, recomposes into an imagined, fractured classical landscape.

The entire fresco is enveloped in a soft egg hue — a sophisticated, warm, and quiet tone that bridges past and present.
Grey tonalities sketch the mural as if emerging from an interrupted dream, while the camouflage, here reinterpreted with grace and restraint, transforms the wall into an emotional portal — a space for reflection on what remains, what fades, and what we choose to remember.

“This design speaks of revealing and concealing — of how history lingers beneath the surface, waiting to be rediscovered.”
— Magnus Gjoen

Whispers of the Forgotten – Egg Edition is the most ethereal and contemplative version of the collection.
The warm, powdery beige–egg base lends elegance and balance to the entire fresco, making it ideal for interiors that seek introspection, beauty, and memory.
